Importing mobile phones and electronics from China
Shenzhen in southern China is the electronics capital of the world, with huge factories and wholesale markets for phones and accessories. Mobile devices are also among the products that need the most care when importing.
Genuine vs counterfeit
Phones carrying global brands must be bought from authorised agents and distributors. Counterfeit devices are illegal and may be seized. You can legally work with Chinese factories making devices and accessories under their own brand or yours.
Type approval in your country
Many countries require approval of wireless devices before import, and some require IMEI registration. Check requirements before buying; we obtain the test reports and certificates the approval needs from the factory.
Batteries and shipping
- Lithium batteries are dangerous goods in transport and need a UN38.3 test report and safety data sheet.
- Air freight of devices with batteries has limits and special packing rules.
- Sea freight is more flexible for large quantities.
Pre-shipment checks
We test power-on, screen, ports, accessories, and that model and memory match the order, and send photos and video.
