Packing fragile goods for international shipping
Glass, ceramics and delicate items need packing designed for a long journey with many handling points.
Basic principles
- Inner wrapping for each piece, with dividers between pieces.
- Fill empty space so nothing moves.
- Double-wall outer cartons for heavy or glass items.
- Clear fragile and orientation marks.
Balance with cost
Stronger packing can increase volume and freight cost. We balance protection with cost and explain the difference before doing it.
Before shipping
Check a few cartons from each supplier on receipt; poor factory packing is easier to fix in China than after arrival.
